Take a cultural dive into Latin American folktales! The culture of Latin American countries has been cultivated and continues through folktales. 3D4D Director, Pia Cruzalegui has adapted for a young audience a series of ancient legends. The selected tales continue to be transmitted from one generation to the next to promote tradition and culture. In this workshop, young artists will experience a Latin American tale, a presentation by Chicago author, Michael Zapata, on the importance of stories with a little history on Incan and Mayan storytelling. Then participants will make a collaborative story with Michael Zapata and create a mixed media artwork related to their story with Pia Cruzalegui. Parents welcome. A portion of workshop proceeds benefits Casa Central.
