This exhibition explores work made by women sculptors utilizing repurposed materials. SECOND LIFE : All Women Exhibition features Laurie LeBreton, Jill King, Bobbi Meier, Deirdre Colgan Jones.

These women artists all work primarily with repurposed materials, giving them a second life. Mining the waste stream they transform what is normally seen as ephemeral, temporary, valueless or disposable into works that transcend materiality, and ultimately challenge our cultural conditioning.

3D4D Conversations

Artists will share their concepts, concerns and process in a Collector’s Circle 3D4D conversation at the closing of the exhibition November 5, 5-6pm

PROJECT ART PARTNERSHIP https://www.projectart.org 3D4D is pleased to announce a partnership with New York City based art education nonprofit, ProjectArt. Combining their missions, this partnership empowers youth, emerging artists, and communities through an afterschool virtual art education series led by Chicago artists.

Chicago artists, Verónica Casado Hernández and Oluwaseyi Samuel Adeleke, have been awarded this year’s Art Education and Social Impact Residency. 3D4D is collaborating on curatorial studio visits with both Chicago resident artists, artist instructors and student’s artwork exhibited in the gallery, and workshop curriculum. 3D4D by CSI will host a closing artist reception for “Permutations of Working Together”, September 24, from 6-9pm, at 1912 N Damen Ave.

The two artists invited by curator Pia Cruzalegui, to participate in the residency are Victoria Fuller and Samuel Schwindt. The artists began their site responsive works, Friday, August 13. Each artist worked in the space over an extended period, documenting processes, while creating non-linear conversations through their art.

"Permutations of Working Together aims to enrich the art space’s programming in an innovative way, extending its mission of inclusivity while establishing the space as a point of investigation, exploration and research. The gallery space becomes a multipurpose environment beyond exhibition." Curator Pia Cruzalegui
