“Stairway to________” Artist Residency @ 3D4D
3D4D by Chicago Sculpture International seeks proposals for thematic residencies that will align with curated exhibitions. Called “Stairway to________” invites artists to re-imagine an odd architectural feature of the space, a stairway that has been sealed at the top. The space is a street facing, storefront with large window.
The inaugural residency will begin in late August 2021 and run for 6 weeks.
This first residency will be presented in tandem with a curated group exhibition and ‘Fall Fest’ community outreach event.
The selected Resident Artist will be responsible for installing their artwork, generating accompanying writing/statement, a public/recorded presentation and helping promote their work.
Open Call for Curators
With the aim of encouraging curatorial research in tandem with exhibition planning, 3D4D by CSI seeks proposals from independent emerging curators for 3 group exhibitions to take place in 2021 and 2022 respectively.
Curators shall consider working with current CSI artists as well as emerging-non-CSI-affiliated.
One of the shows aims at curating a solo show by a CSI artist.
Each group show runs 6 weeks unless noted. A modest stipend of 500.00 is available for the selected curator.
3D4D by CSI is for everyone!
Our community is more interesting with diverse perspectives and voices. We encourage and welcome artists of all backgrounds to experience 3D4D and have scholarship opportunities available in case of need to make programs available to all.
